Open a supported file and run the command to show a live preview in VS Code. You get code↔preview cross-highlighting, link disable/enable, and a grid overlay for layout checks. Multi-Preview (Plus) lets you open multiple preview windows for parallel comparison.

Supported file types & behavior

Extension	Behavior
`.html`, `.htm`, `.xhtml`, `.shtml`, `.xht`, `.ehtml`	Parsed as standard HTML. Code preview highlight sync.
`.php`	PHP blocks `<?php … ?>` are stripped before preview and treated as static HTML (no server execution).
`.md`, `.markdown`	Cross-highlighting is disabled.
